I am about to have my first face to face GP appointment this afternoon. We moved in May 20 lockdown prevented seeing a doctor or nurse practitioner. All my prescription repeats were down on line. I had a call from a practitioner early on telling me I had too much medication on repeat. I’m deaf, couldn’t hear my partner tried to facilitate and was told that they could stay as they were for the time being. In November I had sciatica and a call from a GP with a strong accent, I couldn’t understand him. Again Michael tried to interpret. We think it was agreed to just do what we always did before my previous brilliant GP would tell me to take naproxen for a few days so that it was I did. Called for a blood test at the hospital in December b1ac 56 way over my normal, Partner rang surgery told no action needed. I reduced my carb allowance down to 50 from 80. Next test May , these had moved from hospital to a separate part of G.p surgery. Blood now 60. Result said to talk to GP going through my partner yet again told to take extra metformin and cut back on amitrypline and zolpidem and possibly go on insulin. Haven’t had a full night’s sleep since then exceedingly tired and due to pain issues spending time in bed unable to move. BG 11 through to 14.8. Finally partner got a face to face appointment for me to see the GP that rang after last blood test. So this afternoon seeing this trainee GP should she recommend the eat well plate I will not be responsible for my actions. We found out after booking the appointment that one 8 minute appointment only allows one condition to be discussed. I have multi conditions so presumably will be going backwards and forwards for a very long time just to get their present status discussed. My last GP always had time for all concerns when needed. I miss him. Am now very nervous about today.
