Running and low carb diet

I would think so .I weight train with no probs, I just have some of my daily carb allowance before I work out.............

Pre-diabetes, I had no trouble running 6-7 miles at a time (3 times a week), but I can't comment on further/longer durations.

With that said, the initial 1-2 weeks were very difficult. Before my body went into ketosis, I had little to no motivation to do anything more than sit on the couch and watch tv.

EDIT- Those 1-2 weeks are called the "carb flu" on this website. Not everyone experiences it, but it's something I most certainly had difficulty with.

I'm a low carber and I run 10k and half marathons. I only have carbs when my levels are dropping, which usually happens around 5k in. So yep, it's perfectly possible, but you'll need some short acting carbs at some point.

Yes, as with samJB, reduce insulin beforehand, be prepared to take a snack as needed. For anything of him or lower I can easily remain on less than 100g carbs a day.

For longer races I just eat to the meter at about 40g carbs per hour usually

Agree with SJB and ElyD. You can run LC by reducing insulin but over moderate distances you will be faster with carbs. Carbs are unnecessary for short distances as your liver stores will see you through. For really long events nothing beats induced fat metabolism.
