Hi guys, had a major infection in Dec culminating in being borderline sepsis and very poorly. Still having outpatient hospital visits and still off work. The infection wreaked havoc on my whole body including my BS control which up until infection had been well controlled with just metformin. Since January I have been put on additional jardiance and gliclazide and still having high readings. My nurse has now put me on rybelsus.... I'm on day 2. Anyone else on this? How have you found it? Any tips on avoiding the dreaded side effects?
Thank you

Does anyone take rybelsus 7mg and do you have any side effects? I started on the 3mg and was fine with them but the 7mg are giving me unwanted side effects, I feel very full even after a small meal and I've stopped eating breakfast most days as I just cant face it. The biggest problem is bloating and wind, my stomach cramps, pops and gurgles as soon as I eat something and keeps on churning long after sometimes waking me up during the night.
If this is going to be a longterm side effect I really don't want to take them but the only alternitive that I have been offered is injectable medication which I really don't want as I have a phobia of needles!

I’m on Rybelsus 7mg (after starting on a month at 3mg) I have been lucky and not had any side effects. I’ve been on it for a year now and have, with a low carb diet, kept my blood sugars at non diabetic levels. I’ve also lost a substantial amount of weight, although weight loss is minimal now. I eat smaller meals these days as @Joan Simpson says I feel full more quickly than I used to.

I'm going out on a limb here, I've never taken Rybelsus @choggii, and it is simply my experience with a completely unrelated class of drug, a PPI called Dexlansoprazole. The drug I'm taking disrupts my gut microbiome causing bloating, gas and general uncomfortableness. I started to take pro-biotics once a day. I went with the simple premise that the PPI was doing a number on my gut bacteria causing my food to ferment as it moved through my colon, causing bloating and gas. The pro-biotics worked I no longer get the bloating or the gas. May or may not be relevant, but I thought I would mention it.

Further update.
Rybelsus did not suit me. No BS lowering and in a month I actually gained a little weight which was fluid retention. I was utterly demoralised. Went to see my diabetic nurse last Thurs who immediately took me off the drug.
I have now been on mounjaro for 1 week, 2.5mg and due to inject again tomorrow. My blood sugars this past week have drastically improved. Now testing at 6 or 7s instead of mid 20s.
Just goes to show not all drugs suit everyone. I am so far thrilled with mounjaro. No side effects apart from feeling cold.

I’m so glad you’ve switched to something that suits you better. I don’t believe in this day and age, when there are so many choices of drugs, that any one should suffer unwanted side effects.
