One slice of brown bread and an egg and blood sugar has shot up :( I feel weak which instinctively makes me want to eat :(

Hi @Helgy

How higher your levels?

I certainly found that the knowledge that my levels were higher than I would like probably caused me to then feel additional symptoms due to anxiety. So I'm not the best person to comment.

I hope you are now feeling a bit better?

How much have your levels shot up and over what time?
Don't forget people without diabetes have blood sugar levels that go up and down

We sometimes see meters give a false reading. Did you make sure your finger was clean and free from contamination? I always double test when I get a reading I don't expect. That reading of 10 could actually be only 8.5 since meters today generally only need to meet a 15% accuracy target and then only 95$ of the times. A slice of bread is generally considered to push most T2D high so it is not an inexpected event at the best of times.

Hi. I had a slice of bread and an egg. I have a lot of other health problems so the reward chemicals I got in brain has kept me alive. Otherwise I wouldn’t be here now. Being able to look forward to a latte etc has kept me alive. I’ve gone keto before and found a drop in happiness. I don’t think I’ll survive this the more it carries on.

Was simply trying to point you in a better direction.

Cream in your coffee is great too.

Most people who try keto find an improvement in mood and many mental health problems get better.

hi @Helgy Helg

Have you been diagnosed with prediabetes?
If so, what tests have youl had?
Do you think that there is a problem with food and your emotional health?
Have you asked your doctor about how your symptoms affect you?

Because you have had higher than normal blood glucose levels, you will be getting spikes from the high carbs you are still eating, which I think you are getting the feelings of more carbs to eat. The spikes are doing you no good if you are prediabetic.

try something else low carb and don't let your emotional response be the thing that governs your eating and dietary requirements.
