Salt limit 'combats heart disease'

Totally agree - there is way too many products around which contain large amounts of salt. I have done without any salt in cooking or at the table for years now. Do have some with Tomatoes though - that's it. No lack of flavour and much healthier. Makes me laugh when you see people putting salt on food before they have even tasted it ! It is in most cases just a habit. Something you get used to doing without.
 
My wife told me her late father use to have salt sandwiches :shock: he was another who would pour salt over his food without tasting it first. I detest the taste of salty food and never have it on the table and much prefer ground black pepper any-day.
