Maybe the equivalent would be described as a soup rather than a shake? Just a thought. I recall many years ago there being a soup & shake diet called the Cambridge diet. Don’t think it was low carb though, maybe try googling low carb meal replacement soups?Does anyone know of any savoury shakes that are low carb/keto? I know of Puriton but they don't do savoury options.
Any particular nutrients you are looking for?Does anyone know of any savoury shakes that are low carb/keto? I know of Puriton but they don't do savoury options.
I just never thought to google low cal meal replacements. Duh! Those you turned up look good. I've already made a couple of purchase errors. I googled low carb shakes and it came up with Habituel. They do savoury options and had a trial pack offer. Unfortunately I couldn't see how many carbs each sachet contained. When I was able to check, most had 22 or more grams of carbs per portion. I'm a bit uncomfortable deliberately having so many carbs in one meal, plus they contain maltodextrin which I understand is not too good for diabetics. So that was a bad choice. I followed this by purchasing some Puriton natural food shakes. They are ok, all natural products and low carb, unfortunately all the options are sweet - I don't have a sweet tooth and don't want to develop one so I will definitely investigate your suggestions further. I am looking for a meal replacement of some sort to help with a low carb reset Very lacking in motivation at present and a bit busy to put my mind to the effort of losing weight but it needs to be done so I just thought shakes of some sort might be an easy option.Any particular nutrients you are looking for?
Are you looking for a meal replacement shake or more for something like a snack? With what goal?
In your previous post you mentioned low cal meal replacements, here you mention low carb.I am looking for a meal replacement of some sort to help with a low carb reset Very lacking in motivation at present and a bit busy to put my mind to the effort of losing weight but it needs to be done so I just thought shakes of some sort might be an easy option.
I’ve done this 5 day keto reset meal plan a few times, it’s good nutritional food & quite satiating. The first time I did it I lost 9lb, the other times I’ve lost about 5lb.I am looking for a meal replacement of some sort to help with a low carb reset Very lacking in motivation at present and a bit busy to put my mind to the effort of losing weight but it needs to be done so I just thought shakes of some sort might be an easy option.
When I lived in the Midlands I worked at the Allied Lyons factory - formerly Symington's Soups - in the pilot plant, and Dr Howard came there to get the sachets of the Cambridge diet made up and packed. There were desserts which set - chocolate, strawberry and I think banana flavours - and soups. The mushroom one was rather good. I think there was beef and onion - but it was quite some time ago now. They were for very overweight people who were in a hospital environment.Maybe the equivalent would be described as a soup rather than a shake? Just a thought. I appreciate that this is easy for many, but sometimes those who have ED have to approach it differently. My personal opinion is that there is nothing special about low carb or low calorie shakes. To have better control of what you are eating just eat fish, meat, cheese or eggs. Eat until you eel full and you will have had very few calories and very few (if any) carbs with a really good spectrum of nutrients (meat contains vitamin C else those on carnivore way of eating would get scurvy). Plus, to me it feels a lot more satisfying in the stomach. But we all have different tastes in food.
