Hi everyone, I’ve got an hba1c test result of 42.7, and generally 2hr post-prandial glucose of 9-11.5 mmol/l. I’m always very anxious about seeing doctors and couldn’t bring myself to go the GP, so I got the hba1c and finger prick monitor privately because I’ve had some symptoms of being thirsty and very tired, and I find it hard to keep weight on. From those readings, I’m not 100% sure if I count as pre-diabetic or actually diabetic, as the hba1c isn’t that high but the post-prandial glucose is fairly high. I eat a healthy diet, no processed foods, whole vegetables, veggie protein, home cooked, basically never anything with sugar in.
I was wondering about this - I’m actually on the verge of underweight with my bmi, have a healthy diet, and exercise regularly. This doesn’t seem to fit the risk factors for T2, so I’m wondering if I could have LADA. I was planning to try to improve my glucose tolerance with some HIIT and reducing carbs, but is this safe with LADA? If I can’t get it under control then maybe I need to go and see a doctor anyway, but I’d really like to try by myself.
