Schizophrenia and diabetes

Hi

I have schizophrenia as well as type 2 diabetes

Five years ago my sleep was very disturbed and my diabetes was getting difficult to control though I managed to stay on tablets

Recently I have managed to improve my sleep considerably

I am also exercising very well and controlling my diet

I have managed to reduce my diabetes medication and there is scope for further reduction

Has anyone else had similar experience

I am doing well in job as well

Hi @Vipankhetarpal You have my utmost admiration for staying on track and in control. We have a family member with Schozephrenia and it's hard to have a normal conversation with him, let alone him holding down a job. He doesn't have diabetes and I dread to think how he'd cope as I'm sure he's not taking his other meds regularly and also drinking heavily.

I know this isn't answering your question but I just wanted to say "well done" to you from someone who knows how well you are doing xxx

I had my own problems 26 years ago when I could not complete my masters degree due to schizophrenia. Only after taking medication I returned to my senses
