I would look at the cost of the strips rather than the meter - they will be your biggest expense. Where are you based?

hi i have a contour meter and a accu check meter given me in the box and was advised on here to buy a code free and i can tell u they all read roughly the same with in 1mmol i would advise code free as it is only 6.99 per 50 strips compared to 18.00 the contour and accu check strips i have a code that was given to me on here that reduces them to 5 50 per fifty strips private message me and i will send u the site and codes

I have a Code Free from Homehealth:
https://homehealth-uk.com/product-category/blood-glucose/
I’m not sure if they ship overseas but if they do here are the discount codes which can be used over and over:
5 packs 264086
10 packs 975833
Don’t forget to check the box to say you have Diabetes, if you do, it’ll save you the VAT.

I am from sri lanka. i am worry about the accuracy of the result.tell me the best meter to take. thanx

Kasun, in my view, there is no "best meter". What is best for me may not be for you, or anyone else.

Some people want a small meter, others want one with Bluetooth (or whatever), some want one with cute software or insulin calculations, and some are concerned to balance some or all of the foregoing with the cost of running the meter - bearing in mind the strips are consumables, and therefore bought many times over, usually.

All meters must perform within internationally recognised tolerances, but all will have rogue reading from time to time - for any number of reasons,

Like all other things in life, perfection just doesn't exist.

I use the contour next one meter, after having a contour next xt and a free style meter. I know not all meter's are available in different parts of the world and the prices also vary.

It might help if you told us what type of diabetes you have and the medication you take. In the UK the medical professionals provide free meter and stips with certain medications that can cause very low blood glusoe levels.

I have a Code-Free, a Contour Next usb , two Tee2's, an accucheck mobile, a Gluco-RX and a couple of other non descript meters they all read with about the same accuracy some the test strips are cheap others not so cheap some have particular functions that others don't, so It really is a choice of personal tastes requirements and afford ability.
