Hi folks, went in for my colonoscopy last Friday at the MRI. Upon arrival took straight through and had my bloods checked (21.2). They said they would prefer to have had them a bit lower (6 - 12 mmol) but they said they would do it anyway. Last thing i remember is the nurse saying "you don't look very well hazey". When i came round i was strapped to all sorts of machines and was on oxygen too. From all accounts i had had a very bad fit whilst sedated. they also did aN ECG (s..t myself). They asked me do i normally have fits when i'm asleep and i said i don't know i'm normally asleep !! Anyway after about 10 hours and visits by numerous doctors i made them let me go home, they wanted me to stay in for observations over night but i wasn't having that. The funny thing is that when they pull that curtain around your bed it's as if they think you can't hear them. They were going mad about the levels of my bloods but no one came and said anything to me !!!
OK i've been for my second bloods this morning and he said that i was making good progress it was down from 13.4 to 12.6 (he actually smiled for once). He did however put me on Glimepiride (2mg) as well as the metformin SR, he warned me that i could now have a hypo, (yeah right, more chance of me walking to the moon), and he told me not to drive my car or motor bike for a couple of days to see how i get on. I've now got to test before my breakfast and my evening meal now and "if" i feel ill, (i'll never be off it then). I actually tested one of my work colleagues yesterday to make sure the machine isn't stuck on 11 and above (ha ha funny eh, not) and it actually registered at 4.7, needless to say i slapped her for having such good sugar levels (only joking, i was jealous really). I've got to go and see him again, (GP), in 2 weeks time for my wonderful results, (i know sarcasm is the lowest form of wit but it's also the funniest), so anyone who's remotely interested watch this space !!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry to bore you all but i've got it off my chest again.
REGARDS AND BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL
Appreciate any info on the Glimepiride please
