A few questions occur to me :
Just who are we dealing with ?
What do we know about them ?
Who has access to any data obtained / discussed ?
What will be done with such data ?
Hi DaveP/sixfoot,
Fair play to you for asking. You are dealing with Diabetes.co.uk. We are a UK-based business whose ethos demands that we make our service as useful as possible to the diabetes community. Firstly, we built lots and lots of information as we learned that a lot of people had no idea what was going on. Second, we realised that a lot of people need support and friendship, so we built the community forum. The next stage for us is to make our service more and more useful to people with diabetes. Planned developments include a chatroom, expert and peer review of all content, and using the internet for next-stage tools such as the one mentioned here. We are not dark and shady people, and we are not trying to hide - running this site costs money and we must service those costs. Regarding the data, at this stage it will be seen by myself and the developer of the service. If we intend to share it with anyone else, we ask your permission. If you say so, it goes in the bin.
Hope this has helped explain a bit about us to you, and helps to answer your questions. More on the service coming very soon, the only reason it's secret is because the wide world hasn't seen it yet! It isn't very glamorous or exciting! More to come today.
Regards,
Dan/Admin
