Semaglutide

This thread on the forum might help you @kyler

Edited to add - sorry it's not posting the link for some reason, but you can find it if you search for Ascend trial on the forum.

I think this may be the thread @Hopeful34 is referring to:

I had just finished the first 3 months and now on the trial. I have noticed that the taste of the trial drug is different to the run in tablets, which had a very strong taste. This makes me think I am on the placebo tablet, has any one else noticed the taste difference.

Any one started this trial drug for ascend plus
Yes,I have. It was great to start off with and I felt really good. Then they increased the medication as part of the trial and I started to feel sick then after a while started to feel and be sick every day. Lost quite a bit of weight, which was brilliant but felt ill. On the advice from their team, I stopped the trial. I was gutted as it was great to start off with. Saying all if that,
if offered, I would try again.

I was on Ozempic injections (Semiglutide) until celebs caused shortage. Then put on another injection which I reacted to. Now on Rebelsus (Semaglutide) tablet form. It has a strong taste but seems to be working with my numbers, my appetite is slightly different. My reason for joining in with this conversation is what is this trial and can you tell me more about it please?
I am type 2 diabetic.
Good luck to you all and thanks.

The trial is called ascend plus and it's run by Oxford university

Hi...I'm on the trial drug...I've done my initial 3 month and now into my second month of placibo/ proper semaglutide. The taste of my tablets haven't changed..they are still just as bitter...and my side effects from the intial drugs haven't changed either....I still have really bad burps..constipation...heartburn...nausea.. loss of appetite ect. ...I have lost 2st 4lb so far which is a good thing for my diabetes but I struggle to eat a decent meal..if at all....I'm certainly not taking in enough protein which is why I think I get the shakes and feel generally unwell alot of the time.....I think it's about re educating my eating and knowing where to start.....so if anyone has any tips I would be very grateful....baring in mind I don't have an appetite.
