Hello, I've been a Type1 diabetic for 54 years and have recently had to see a consultant regarding an umbilical hernia. He recommended losing a bit of weight and an op and to help with this taking semiglutide in tablet form, but he did not know if it is suitable for Type 1 diabetics. Does anybody know the answer to this please?

Hi & welcome to the forum :)

Sorry we aren’t allowed to advise on taking medication on the forum, we can share experiences so maybe a T1 on the forum has experience of taking semiglutide do you have a hospital team you can speak to? or maybe the pharmacist they can be pretty knowledgeable on that kind of stuff. Though in my opinion surely if your GP is wanting to prescribe you a medication then it’s up to them to find out if it’s suitable for you

Edited to correct spelling mistake
