Hi. Yes, can you eplian 4 Basal. I'm assuming you should be on two insulins, Basal and Bolus. Normally the Basal would be taken once day or split into two and the Bolus taken before any meal. Are you carb-counting the amount of Bolus needed for each meal? Do let us know more and go to A&E if your blood sugar goes into Hi on the meter. Have plenty of water. What sort of diet are you one. You need to have a very low level of carbs in your diet until the blood suagr is sorted. Can I ask what your weight/BMI is?
Marina, I really don't know what to say to help you right now.. But I am going to try and find out something. Stay with us on the forum, we will try our best to here for you. Take care and try and be strong. RRB x

In what way do you mean low carb could be harmful? I don't know of anything as harmful as high BG and DKA and to NOT advice someone in Marinas situation to low carb might actually be harmful. Of course she needs medical attention too obviously but the first and simplest thing she can do to control BG is not to eat things that we know will raise it, and lowering BG must be of highest importance for the OP.I don't think ( as a forum and not medically trained) telling a member who is such state with her diabetes that she needs to go very low carb. We don't know what other medical conditions she may have, her weight, possible kidney, eye problems as we have no idea what is going on in her life, physically or mentally. The huge BS readings should be seen by her medical team ASAP.
Best wishes RRB

Totto, I haven't said low could be harmful, I never had. Please read my post again, as I said we do not know of the OP's physical or mental state, or any other medical conditions she has.
You are right. Actually I read the sentenceI don't think ( as a forum and not medically trained) telling a member who is such state with her diabetes that she needs to go very low carb. We don't know what other medical conditions she may have, her weight, possible kidney, eye problems as we have no idea what is going on in her life, physically or mentally. as:
I don't think you (as a forum member and not medically trained) should be telling a member who is in such state with her diabetes that she needs to go very low carb as she might have other conditions that can make a low carb diet harmful.
My view is that the poor girl needs what help we can give her and going low carb and also high fat so she gets some sustenance as a means to try and control raging blood sugar is, I think, the second step she should take after seeking medical help. And low carbing can be done regardless of mental status ot other health conditions including kidney problems, weight issues and the rest.
I don't want to quarrel over this. Maybe you could make you view on eating carbs or not a bit clearer in this particular situation? Others may have made the same interpretation as I did.
