Hello
Common problem I am 40 years old and having problems getting an erection. My partner has been very patient but I conscious she has wants. I was contemplating taking Viagra but research suggests and proven if taken (despite good fitness levels) that a possible heart attack could happen.

Please advise. Thank you

I'd rather risk a heart attack than never have sex again lol !
Seriously, all meds have a slight risk attached to them. Viagra is used by millions and I'm certain if they were very dangerous they would be banned.

I think you may have got a bit of a garbled tale about this risk. The risk isn't a general risk, it is a risk to certain people who have known conditions.

There are two main reasons to avoid viagara. The first is if you already have very low blood pressure as taking it may lower it further, by up to 8 points. It can cause you to faint. Most people don't have such low blood pressure. The second problem is if you are taking medications which include nitrates which are often prescibed for patients with certain types of coronary heart disease. It can cause very low blood pressure with certain nitrate based medications. Again, most people will not fall into this category. Most of us here probably have high blood pressure. If you ask your GP, he will know if you are at risk.

I have a similar problem, difficulty in maintaining an erection. After several sessions with my local hospital they prescribed me Cialis 5mg.
I take one tablet per day and unlike the larger tablets of Cialis or Viagra you don't take before sex. It keeps a low amount in your system and gives you a lot more flexibility.
It has worked wonders for me. The only downside is the occasional bout of heartburn.
I am slowly weening off the tablets as my control is a lot tighter than it was a few years ago, but they certainly did the trick.
I would recommend speaking to your doctor regarding any tablets of this kind, mine were very understanding and I was so embarrassed, but they put me at ease quickly.

Hope this helps.
