Shake weight

When I first started to lose weight, my skin was still pretty toned and tight, no bingo wings. I did notice the other day though, I did have a bit of flab, so decided to try to tone it up. I have mentioned the shake weight before, and so I decided to order one. It should be here tomorrow morning. You can then sit and imagine me doing this (get ya mind outta the gutter  ).

Mind and gutter Stephen?

Well that's Mrs Borofergie's Christmas present sorted then...

I am SO pleased I hadn't taken a drink before I read that. I make sure I never do when I see a post from you, my poor screen got doused in coffee or green tea once a while ago thanks to you.

  You guys are too bad

I'll have you know that the Shake Weight is surprisingly effective at toning the arms and upper body; the exercises can be done whilst sitting down, so might be suitable for people with mobility problems.

Jo, I really hope it works for you....meanwhile this thread has just given me the best diaphragmatic workout I've had in ages!

Maybe I should buy one.....

Bows  Glad you ladies had a giggle, we all need that as well as low carbs high fat.

Ok, back to the shake weight, it arrived today complete with a complimentary CD which I just looked at in horror and put to one side. You always know a complimentary anything with exercise equipment is going to impress on you just how amazing the product is, and half kill you proving it! I just followed some simple instructions for a simple exercise on a sheet in the box. "SIX MINUTES A DAY WILL GIVE YOU THE TONED ARMS YOU ALWAYS WANTED" claims the leaflet, so I did 6 minutes. The following six minutes, and possibly the six minutes after that were spent trying to get some feeling back. It was only once my arms were usable again, did I lift the leaflet and read "The harder you shake the weight, the better the workout". I had given the **** thing hell, thinking it wasn't doing anything.

Lesson learned. Even an hour later, there is still a slight burn, not painful at all, perhaps just a reminder to take it slightly easier tomorrow.

Conclusion: It works!

PMSL!!!

Okay...I have one in 'Watching' I don't mind paying 99p for it plus shipping. I need to do something about my upper arms but I'm sceptical that I'll ever look like all of those Tiffanies on the above video!

Oh bu**er! I didn't think of ebay, I bought a new one from Amazon.

I am certain I will never have the arms of a young woman again without surgery, but this may well be a good alternative, just don't shake the **** thing too hard, or you find you can't use your arms. It is fun though, my daughters had a go and we all just fell about laughing, so it's a fun way to exercise at least. It also allows the Borofergie's of this world to have brains worse the the London sewage system, so a win win all round I think.

Do let us know how you get on with it.
I tried one once, borrowed from a personal trainer friend, but gave up, because Iwas scared my EIA would kick in from the vibration.

OK I have ordered one but if my teeth fall out with the vibrations I am holding you responsible Jo. :D

I thought the London sewage system was award winning? Built by those prurient, upright Victorians.......!

EEK - ok, ok firstly NO VIBRATIONS. It's not battery powered it works via inertia, so the more you work it the better the work out.

Sheesh, I have visions of the diabetes posse chasing me waving shake weights at me.

I really do like it. I can do a minute or two while sitting waiting for the kettle to boil, a phone call, whatever. I did do a straight six minutes this morning, and will do that each day, but as it is so simple, you can add time easily. Even sitting watching television you can be shaking.

I am starting a club for the elimination of bingo wings.

They were fine, thankfully  I have been really busy today and not done my 6 minutes, but I will before bed.
