Guess i should have stated !! , any hakes really, but i suppose protein would be more suitable, as a mid morning/ afternoon snack

Hi @Diabeticger As long as you're bolusing the correct amount of insulin for the carb content then should be fine.

Just a note in case you’re not aware. Protein alone although containing minimal to no carbs can still cause a rise in blood sugar.
It’s a process called gluconeogenesis, might be worth checking out if you haven’t already.
Apologies if you know this already.:)

Good luck with adapting. With respect to gymwork, Phil Graham has a lot of useful information that might help you.

If you're doing strength training (presumably that's why you're taking protein...) - you will probably find that your BG levels will rise quite a bit. I find mine rise a lot, then crash quite suddenly an hour or two after the gym (or high intensity excercise). Excercise can be tricky, so I'd advise keeping plenty of logs and testing regularly. Everyones body reacts differently to different stresses.

In terms of protein shakes, there are no problems. Just inject accordingly, as people have already mentioned. Read the back of the container and weigh your scoops if you can. I go for low sugar shakes were possible even if they don't taste too great.
