Ok
So just got back from North London after 2.5h round trip
Had breakfast of 50carbs
Got back and having hypo ImageUploadedByDCUK Forum1438687338.899443.jpg
So have lunch in front of me
That would need 4 units to deal with
But now I am not sure if should bother with this reading
Any ideas

I'd say it depends on how much one unit affects your levels. I would expect 4 units to drop my blood by about 12, so if I missed the dose even starting at 3.8 I would end up around 16. This could be different for you of course but on that basis I would reduce my units but not miss the injection completely

Hope that helps a bit?!

Think wot am saying is - as so low should I wait to take insulin to see how it comes up
Or do low dose

I'd correct the hypo, wait a bit to make sure I'm ok, then bolus and eat as normal. If you're worried you could delay the bolus until after you've eaten. It depends on how your body reacts.

When on MDI, I was told to correct a hypo with quick acting carbs then subtract 10g from meal total and bolus accordingly. To be on the safe side I always waited till after the meal before taking insulin.

Now I just re- read this ... I do it all the time
No injections if low
I just eat if low and then check
See where I am 1. 30 min after and then if need be inject
But most times I don't bother if low

Bad thing then ?!
