Currently in a happy place and thought I'd share the joy
.
After a diagnosis in mid-October, that had BG sky high and cholesterol at 7.8, a big improvement at the end of November with A1C at 8.7 (high but sharply trending in the right direction) and cholesterol at 4.5 (ditto), the full results are in from a further blood test at end of January:
Total Cholesterol: 4mmol/L (I didn't note down the HDL/non-HDL split but my DM Practitioner seemed delighted. I'll check next time)
HbA1c: 5.8%
Kidney, Liver, and Thyroid function all normal.
No more nursey blood tests for 6 months. No requirement for finger-pricking other than 'just cause' or random sample.
I realise this isn't a 'hit the target once' scenario and that things may change in time but I'm currently eating, exercising and living in a very enjoyable and sustainable manner so here's to the future.
