Male 79yo 95Kg. last Feb/22 I woke up almost blind in my right eye, went to see an opthalmologist and was told I had T2B. I have always lead a healthy athletic lifestyle and would visit a health carer if I suspected something wasn't right so BP, urine and heart was always normal.
I knew very little about Diabetes and thought I was in peak health but looking back my sweet tooth caught up with me and my body said Hey!, enough is enough.
I had the laser to clean up the mess in my right eye and also one injection to prevent further growth followed by a daily green pill to also prevent further growth.
I burnt off 10Kg with intense exercise and a strict diet consisting of protein and good fats, my right eyesight returned but I can no longer read the normal print on my electronic devices with it...left eye is ok. I visited my doctor yesterday and he said my glucose levels have improved and I only need to take one 500mg of metformin per day and if for any reason my sugar readings start to rise, I get on my home gym and burn it off.
I've read that Diabetes can be cured but if that's only a myth I'm very happy I'm where I am now and intend to keep it that way.
