Hi @Roger Wolves & welcome to the forum :)

We can’t give advice on the forum whether you should take a medication or not, I don’t have any experience of this type of medication but we do have some members who can share their experiences. What is it that makes you reticent to take the Mounjaro? What was your GP advice about it?

Concerned about the weight loss drug hype and effect on pancreas. Consultant prescribed it via a telephone appointment so feel a disconnect. Also heard should not be taken with Alogliptin and Gliclazide. Haven't asked GP yet

Hi @Roger Wolves and welcome to the forum. It is often difficult to question something when it’s sprung on you, especially over the phone. If I was in your position I’d book another appt with the dr who prescribed it and discuss it further. Before the call I would write down all my questions so I didn’t forget anything.

Hi @Roger Wolves - I'm sure that there are some on this forum who will be thinking similarly, it's a substantial burden to be taking all those meds, but each of us is unique and what works for one may not work for another.

You may be aware from browsing this forum that many here have found that there are specific dietary changes that can be both very effective at managing and even reversing T2DM while at the same time reducing the need for meds. The last 10 years or so have been pretty seismic in terms of the general understanding of the condition, and I'm wondering what your thoughts are more generally, not just in relation to one specific med. Nobody here can or should suggest any change in another members medication, but for me personally, I found myself railing against the sense that T2DM was just a progressive chronic thing I could do nothing about.

Hi Roger, I've been on Mounjaro for 2 months now 1st month of 2.5 jabs then 2nd month 5 mg jabs, so far I've lost 12 kgs & was on a very similar list of meds as you, only thing was that I was advised to stop the Gliclazide immediately. my 'finger prick test have also been much reduced.
