Perhaps we should knock this one on the head and meet up in Thommos bar for a beer or two ??
We should also be able to discuss diabetes management without things getting personal. We are not all perfect and if some people deviate from the strict NHS stance that does not necessarily mean it's being advocated or promoted. I read so many posts on this forum that I don't agree with but that's just forums

But it's not being encouraged. It's just people discussing how they manage their own condition. A couple of posts back, I suggested a beer, that's not me telling all forum members they should start drinking alcohol ! If somebody posts that we should all re-use needles for days on end, that's dangerous and wrong. However, if a forum member admits that they don't always follow strict NHS guidelines, we shouldn't hammer them ! That is not supportive and drives people away. That's the thing nothing on here should be made personal, and having a different point of view is normally harmless, however in this case even oh ugh it's not personal encouraging dangerous practices shouldn't be allowed, I am far from perfect but not changing needles and injecting through clothing is way over the line in my personal opinion

Is that the comment by Daibell ? I can see that but it's still not promoting or encouraging it. The quote was " Cost to the NHS is staggering and I feel this is my way of doing my bit" or similar ? I just think we should be able to discuss or even disagree without getting personal ( not that your were CrimsonFair comment and I agree with you on this but earlier on in the thread it was mentioned about reusing needles to save the NHS money

Or you can do an "air shot" before and after each injection to prevent the insulin deteriorating in the needle and make sure only fresh insulin is injected.Dear Elizabeth, you should never reuse needles because the insulin that remains in the needle turns to crystals and prevents a full dose being given. That is what my Specialist told me.
