Sick and tired

I am sick and tire of people with type II being blamed on our life style a by diet and diet plus and can be controlled by tablets, I was diagnosed with type II when I was 35 I am 63 now and have been on insulin for 7 years. I am insulin resistant and I mean resistant, I was taken into Raigmore hospital 6 years ago and because they could not bring down my bloods (off the scale all the time)so the treatment was to put me on an insulin pump which brought my levels down to 5.7 never over 10, great I was put onto the pump programme only to be told because of the NICE guide said it was not for type IIs and taken off.
Now the Scottish Government are crowing about giving youngsters pumps (which I think is great) to stop damage in later life, me I am still on the same levels have no feeling in my hands or feet, going blind they will not operate because my blood levels are so high and cannot control my bowels because of all the nerve damage.
So not all type IIs are in the same boat but I have been condemned because of NICE and the so called specialist painting us all with the same brush, please someone wake up and put our case forward to late for me but I cannot be the only one, I have spoken to Nicola Sturgens office and the go with NICE.
I have been in the hospital for a week with my bloods taken every hour with no result in a controlled intake of food, I am still classed on my records as BADLY CONTROLLED DIABETES is is it because they think they know all about type II I wonder.

Sorry ashamed of rant.

Don't be ashamed of your rant. I think that if I was in your position I'd be ranting a lot more! It's beyond belief that you can be treated so badly. I wish I could do something to help.

Thank you for your kindness, I forgot to say I was told to imitate the pump which means I am injecting myself 10 to 15 times a day, I am on 300 of Levemir and 150 of fast acting Nova rapid which means I am on the high side of having hypos.
Once again thank you
Great

people who think nothing is wrong with you because they do not see blood or a plaster cast, i suffer with arthritis & use a zimmer & wheelchair but because they cant see anything wrong people assume nothing is wrong with you.
I think your rant is guite justified. I am type 2 and luckily on tablets, diabetes is diabetes whether type 1 or 2.
Diabetes can be inherited like mine was.
Type 2 is not from all obese people, like mine at moment eating what I am allowed be up and down like a yoyo. We do not ask for it a lot of us but still treated with the attitude of you did not look after yourself.people that pass remarks are ignorant of the subject and want to keep guite about what they do not know.

Here here even the so called specialise seem to think its all our fault only last moth I was told that I of course now realised I had no chance of having a pump. I have even been told I am having to much insulin I tried to tell them that I would be off the scale result none believe so I spent another 6 months off the scale.

When I was told it was the result of an eye test I was slim fit (I was digging holes all day) but its all our fault!

soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
You are certainly NOT a typical type 2. They should be investigating exactly what is going on.
If they have evidence of what is happening, they should see that. As to withdrawing your pump. that is ridiculous. Doctors have the power to prescribe anything to anybody if they can show the need. You need to rant at them. I would. politely, but firmly. Start with your PALS service. Tell them EXACTLY how you feel. It's their job to listen.

Hi. That is certainly a very high level of insulin units which as you say really needs a pump. For interest what sort of low-carb diet are you on as that level of insulin resistance is unusual and must be something different from just food intake which the NHS obviously can't explain?

Hello,
Because of the bowel problem I cannot eat full meals more like snacks three maybe twice a day, porridge, brown rice, fish or open sandwich with chicken or ham again to avoid attacks which can last days I also some days eat only jelly the diabetic stuff is awful the two strokes have a good side in that I cant taste anything now.

Kind regards
