Hi

I have had tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, celery with cottage cheese and 2 cups of black coffee with out sugar today.
I think that my carbs are very low and don't think i have that much calories.

I have been very active then I normally am for a Sunday. Must have walked 3 miles and run about 0.5 miles, finally took my bike out of the garage and went for a bike ride.put the clothes out, shopping etc,

My question is - If my calorie intake is less then my usage. Is my body now burning my access fat or is it using the blood/glucose that is in my blood for energy?

It might be silly question and I am sorry.

Thanks

If you have a very low carb intake then your body will start burning fat when it has used all available glucose (it's called Ketosis). Note that tomatoes and carrots do have carbs so you may still be taking in enough. As long as you have some carbs and enough fat & protein your body will manage the rest burning stored fat if needed. Either way it will still release energy for general body use.
