Have you messed up today or a dietary confession if so how and what where the consequences

Ok I'll go first
I have a bit of a confession . I had a burger with bun today . Nktt good I know but I was at a charity bike show as a Marshall and "collection tin operative" lol but had no other choice than to buy one. I havent worked out picknic low carbing yet but should have realy been better prepaird but did 12 hour shift last night finished @6am in bed for 7 up for 10 out by quarter past. Before 7.3 Had burger 2 hours after and having been vigorously shaking a collection bucket Iread 10 not to sure how to evaluate tthat . As was physically very active for the 2 intervening hours. I think it a tad hight. Dont know? But I did stick to waser and no beer so I have been kinda good

I went out last night and was completely reckless...pizza hut then out drinking. Jager bombs which are made up of red bull were included. And I am really suffering today. Blood sugars been between 7 - 11 but I am feeling really poorly :-(

Won't be doing that again in a hurry..

Little sin today. Made jam. - you know when you test to see if its at the setting point? - put a little bit on a saucer and put it in the freezer for a couple of minutes, then run your finger through it? Well, I can't seem to resist putting said finger in my mouth, then scooping up the rest of the test bit too. Today's batch took four lots of testing! Not a huge sin, - I didn't have any other carbs today, and I did need to check and make sure it tasted ok....... :) (it did! Plum and peach. Yum!)

Wine.... 3 (small) glasses. I have missed it and haven't had it for ages but it is of course filled with carbs. *sigh*

However my sugar levels have been fab today (the day after the wine) so perhaps I should indulge more often?!?

Red wine will actually reduce your bg levels (one of the few pieces of good news about diabetes). Arguably one unit of red wine a day would form part of a well-controlled diabetic diet -- it's medicinal, not an indulgence! :D

Hello Engineer. Portable low carb breakfast? How about: hard-boiled eggs; chunks of cheese; cooked low-carb sausage (Black Farmer Premium Pork are only 1% carb; German Frankfurter types are also low carb because they're not allowed to adulterate them rusk and other rubbish); slices of Sukrin bread (2.5% carb)?

thanks Sketcher,

I like to be difficult so I'm coeliac as well which rules out 99.9% of bread and cerals. hadent thought of eggs hard boiled though, Just been sticking with musli (made myself) which is about 40g carb a bowl - not exactly low carb!

You could make oopsie bread (recipe on the diet doctor website) which I use like normal bread.

Have to admit finding it hard to come to terms with the fact that on this diet you can have bacon blackpuding eggs and mushrooms for breakfast and still get the desired results. Shame about the baked beans but hey you cant have everything

In that case I will have to have wine more often! Although it was white not red but I'm going to tell myself it had the same effect!

Whompa, I always include beans as they are the exception and much like nuts shouldnt be considered as carbs. Look at the of which sugar line for BAKED BEANS ONLY!! a couple of desert spoons full is good :)

As equipoise has said, red is usually fine, as is dry white. Neither increases my levels, after a few hours I remedy the drop in levels with a beer!

Beans are very spiky for most and it's the total carbs that count and not just the 'of sugar only' that most count including myself...don't get me wrong though as I used to LOVE beans with a passion but on a regular basis I would recommend a couple of tinned tomatos drained out of the can as an alternative but that's just me,it depends on how low carb Whompa wants to go

At moment want to try and keep below 30 but would go slightly higher if I had to eg yesterdays burger or a banana after exercise. But to be honest I think I'm under 10/15 most of the nuts and cups of tea. Strange though iv had no carbs today apart from 2 splashes of milk in tea and iv just tested and im over 9 again . Not sure why?

Well,I thought I would be in the sin bin today as just after my lunch ( 2 slices of ham and a poached egg) my BG was 7.9, I have had a slice of new York cheese cake. I checked my BG 2 hours later and it was 9.2, I thought it would be much higher :D
