Single artery umbilical cord

Hi ladies ,
Had my ultrasound results at 24 weeks , everything is good with my baby , but it's says 2 vessel umbilical cord instead of 3 ... Aka"Single artery umbilical cord "....Doctors said it happens with diabetic moms ....she said after 30 weeks they will start monitoring the baby weekly for growth restriction because sometimes baby does not proper nutrients ..any inputs ?

I didn't have that with any of my pregnancies, but I have read that it's not that uncommon, and you certainly don't have to have diabetes to have it.

If everything else looked good with baby, then that sounds positive When I was pregnant, I looked at sites about health problems in pregnancy (because I wanted to read about mums with diabetes) and I saw a number of women who had a single umbilical artery. Of course, it's far better to speak to your consultant than look on Google, but none of those women had diabetes so it can happen to anyone, as I understand it.

It certainly can happen to anyone, it happened to me forty years ago when my youngest son was born and I was not diabetic then (only last year) he weighed just four pounds and is now six foot four and never has any health problems so don't worry, just one of those things
