Skin Cream Dry Skin - Legs

Hello does anyone use an all round skin cream/lotion that is diabetic safe. I know foot heel cream .....but leg cream?
Apologies if no one is allowed to suggest,but thought I would try a question answers from this forum have helped me in the past.

I can't help you directly, but just to be clear - there's no problem anyone recommending a brand (etc) that they've used and think is good. You can name the brand - it's a bit difficult someone knowing what you're recommending otherwise.

The forum doesn't like people promoting anything they have a financial interest in - that's advertising - and anything like that would be removed.

Since I had my leg amputated my prosthesist told me to moisturise my legs and foot ,mainly to prevent cracking infection etc etc , I decided to use baby oil have to say my stump has had many comments on how smooth it is and to be honest when I tell them what I use they aren’t surprised . As far as diabetic “ friendly “ I use the theory that if it’s good enough for a baby‘s bum it’s good enough for my old body , I’ve never had any ill effects anyway

A couple of years ago I started to use a product that was originally made for babies' sensitive skin. It was marvellous. It absorbed easily, without sitting on the skin. I used it on arms, legs and torso. Unfortunately, after the company was sold, I cannot find it in the shops. The cream used to be called: Grapefruit & Organic Tea Tree Moisturiser, made by Chillds Farm.

Why would general lotions and creams not be safe for diabetics?

I use hand cream on my feet and legs. Any old hand cream will do. If you are in UK there are inexpensive ones in Aldi and Lidl that do the job beautifully.

Thank you to all who replied. I was advised to use emollient cream,but so many variants / prices/ availability issue,made me wonder
what do others use.

I have a big tub of E45 for when my legs/feet need tlc and use this on my face/neck works a treat and hides the wrinkles lol

I use Aveeno (Daily Moisturising Body lotion), though I don't really use it daily - after I shave, which is fairly infrequently with alopecia, and on shins and arms which can get dry and end up with patches of eczema during the winter, which the Aveeno seems to get rid of very quickly.

I forgot to say I also use Aveeno DMBL but it will aggravate my eczema if I am having a flare up, which at the moment I am

Interesting how it has different effects, my daughter also didn't get on very well with it when she had eczema when she was younger (which I guess I should have mentioned originally). As with all things even vaguely diabetes-related, YMMV!
