I always have breakfast and my readings are usually good. I had though for some unknown reason 8.4 fasting reading today. Should I have had breakfast?

Yes, of course, you have to eat! Was probably a morning liver dump.

I never eat breakfast, never have - cant abide eating at that time of a morning.

I take the view that getting up in the morning takes energy.
This has to come from somewhere.
If you don't eat breakfast (like I didn't for decades), then you are teaching your body to find the energy from somewhere else (the liver).

I genuinely believe that skipping breakfast for all that time caused my dawn phenomenon and hair trigger liver dumps in the morning.

So yes, I recommend breakfast.

(I also find that within minutes of eating a low carb breakfast my blood glucose drops substantially. It is as though my body sighs in relief, and comes off emergency energy production)

I find that if I don't eat breakfast my BS drops and I feel quite ill. I also feel the same if I leave it too long between eating and find that I am better off if I have a small 'snack' between b/fast and lunch

I eat breakfast otherwise my BG climbs. However, during the day, my liver doesn't seem to dump and I can go without food. If I get hungry though, I feel nauseous and ignoring that on one occasion caused me to actually have nausea.

I do think breakfast is important. I find that getting on top of my numbers in the morning makes them better all day and if eating does that then I'm more than happy to do it.

Never use to eat breakfast, but since being on merformin I always have it & I'm loosing weight so I must be doing something right

Never really fancy food at that time , but start to feel hungry about mid morning so eat brunch, did Intermittent Fasting 16/8 ( fast for 16 hours eat in a 8 hour window typically 12 noon till 8) for a long time which fits in well for non brekky people
