My question is: Often I skip breakfast, or i get up late  or something. So I dont do my fbg until just before lunch. Today it was 7.5

Am I doing this wrongly?

Also - do I have to eat 3 regular meals a day, 4-5 hours apart?

I am type 2, diet only (so far)

Thanks.

Me too.

The problem with doing this is that your BG might end up getting low enough to cause your liver to dump a load of glucose into your blood, which is a bit counter-productive, as you might as well have just eaten something small in the first place.

Everyone is different, but I think that you should listen to your body and eat when you feel hungry. One of the benefits of reducing your dependence on carbohydrates is that your appetite becomes less dependent on glucose sugar swings, so that you can listen to your body's signals and know that you are really hungry when you feel hungry.

Lucy, I never eat breakfast, I just can't. Quite often I skip lunch too. Even if I do have lunch it is usually only some cold meat with a little Philly cheese, or some mixed berry's and Greek yogurt, enough to stop the Metformin upsetting my stomach. At dinner time, I am usually ready for a meal, but will have little snacks later, such as sugar free jelly or even a slice (only one slice) of Burgen bread, again with some ham or Philly. My BG has not been brilliant the last few days, as I have been feeling a little of colour and stressed. I go with my body and apart from the last few days am usually fine BG wise.
