I'm type 2 and also a disabled veteran who has been medically diagnosed with SO SO many various conditions and further illnesses,ANYWAY my question is have any other followers who are up during the night, and one of my conditions is "lazy bladder"so sometimes I'm resolved to sitting on the toilet waiting for nature to take its course,at times I "thought"that I had been falling asleep while waiting but when I eventually got round to asking my GP he automatically diagnosed "deification Syncope"PLEASE forgive me if I have got the last word wrong but I'm trying to remember the correct word he used,so my question is has anybody else been told about this as a possible answer to an embarrassing question,PLEASE be honest with me as I'm very interested in this diagnosis B 1st Bn RHF

Almost everybody with diabetes has toilet issues. You will get used to it. It ranges from visiting the pee house for three or four times a night to going to the loo for number twos a few times a day. There is not cure that I know of but I have a a large house with three toilets so I get by for the most part.

Hi @Fusilier1988 and welcome :)

Did the doctor suggest diabetes was the cause of your problem? I don't know what causes fainting such as you have, but sometimes diabetes can affect the nerves so I wondered if this was anything caused by your diabetes or whether it's unconnected.

well since diagnosis I suddenly had to go to the toilet many times every night, where before even with high blood glucose I only had to go once if any times..

after a lot of speculating in other reasons I found out that its my metformin that make me have to go to the toilet so much in the night, and since taking the whole dose in the morning I stopped having the problem ... what I wan´t to suggest to you is that your problems could also come from some of your medications and not only from a body getting more and more issues from body-decline...
just to have also this aspect in mind...

I've found if I have toilet problems it's generally a matter of not being able to wait rather than the other way round... And high glucose levels or metformin are likely to be a major cause in many such cases.

But if you ask Gioogle about "defecation syncope" there's a fair bit of information - some of it quite incomprehensible jargon - but from what little I looked at it appears to be quite a rare condition.

I have had mythocondrial type 1 diabetes for 13.5 years and sometimes it depends on my blood sugar levels as I work as a security officer and work shifts,so that can be an obvious factor in me getting up 4 times a night

Please can members read the OP carefully. They are not complaining about urinary frequency. They are asking about a specific medical complaint - ie fainting.
