According to my Libre I spent most of last night at about 2.5 to 3mmol.

I woke up and did a finger prick test and it was 4mmol (my Libre at this point was reading 3.1mmol) - so my Libre may have been under estimating during the night - but in any event, my question is should I be worried that I never woke up when my BG was this low?

Although 4mmol is a bit low to spend the night fast asleep, its not low enough to be hypo and make you sweat which is whst happens in hypoland, so this is why you never woke up.

Any time i have had a night time hypo i end up having to change the sheets after i treat it..... its a good easy way to tell..

Usually if you were to sleep through a hypo you would wake up with higher bg levels (Google the Somogyi Effect).

Yes and its the worst feeling at 3am

Sounds like yr need for background insulin starts to drop from midnight so that's why you go low at 3am.
Eat a snack about 10.30 to 11pm to make bg go up a bit.... or see a man about a pump

Aye I had to much levmir at the time. Rarely happens now.

I was having insulin in the morning and in the eve however twice i woke and was having a hypo had to eat in the middle of the night but how i woke up was weird ...felt like some one was scratching my head and it felt like i was coming up in a tunnel from deep sleep... knew instantly to test sugar levels which were 3.2...needless to say i am off the eve Insulin as trying to manage with out it I do not like hypos in the middle of the night:eek:

Sometimes it pays to have a piece of toast without injecting any quick acting insulin when you inject your night insulin especially if it a 'cloudy type' insulin. Just keep reducing you night insulin by 10% until you don't hypo in the night.

Yes, I'd be very worried as you could loose your driving licence...it's to do with hypo awareness/lack of. Reduce your night insulin by 10% until you do night hypo or reduce it by 2 units and have a piece of toast with out injecting any quick acting insulin and see what happens.

I think you will also find that keeping the sensor under a duvet or pillow etc gives lower readings than if the sensor is on top of the bedding, if this is possible to do..

Was this a new sensor @pinewood? Usually that's when they do the low all night thing.
Ah. Well, it might just be the Libre thing. For me, each new Libre sensor except for two perfect ones read very low throughout the first two nights. In my case this was false. Then usually by night number three, they had got their act together. My memory is that I'm far from alone in this.

So you have to gauge whether you think there really was something, or not. Sounds to me as if there wasn't.
