I like to keep the BG in the 4's and 5's at random tests, and ideally under 6 fasting--all of which I could initially do with the very LC diet, but has crept up over the months. 4's were totally gone for quite a while, until this experiment brought them back, so I'm going to keep experimenting to see what's what. Bread is definitely bad (raised rather than lowered postprandial) but a small amount of fruit (tried blueberries today) or salty liquorice seems to be good. At least, so far--we shall see. I fear it might be making me more tired, which could mean spikes I'm missing with my meter, but I've had other reason to be tired too this weekend, so we'll see what lasts.
