Slimming World for type 2 help please

I have seen many members successfully loose weight and help their blood sugar readings with Slimming world. I am desperate to go to join but when I read the recipes and how it works I do not see how it is any good for us diabetics. Eating as much rice pasta etc as you want, snacks of fruit and low cal bars to ward off hunger. If I had to do this my sugars would be worse than they are now. Yes if I went to just low carb and cut our everything else it would work but there would be no point in me going to do their slimming plan.. PLEASE can anyone who has been advise me.

I am fairly recently diagnosed and have a lot of weight to lose. I thought about doing Slimming World ( I have lost weight with a slimming club before) but looking round on this forum I came to the conclusion that I can find loads of good advice on diet here. I have lost 2stones in less than three months and the money I save from not going to SW I spend on testing strips. I have gone the low carb route. The discipline required is reading the labels on everything you buy. I have a free app to record BG levels and weight and the reward is seeing the graph moving downwards!

I tried low carbon for 3 months but got so fed up with it. Is this really the only way to loose weight and have good readings ??

I think it probably is if you want good results in the short term. As it was when I lost weight before, I think you have to try and extend the range of foods you eat so you are not eating similar things all the time. You can have too much chicken and green vegetables. My other half is out tonight so I didn't feel like cooking. I had half a slice of buttered wholemeal toast with scrambled eggs and some left over smoked salmon. It was really tasty. I know some would say forget the toast but it's low carb not no carb!
