My hba1c has been ok for the last year but I noticed my urine smells really strongly. I can't describe the smell when I Google it, it says a sweet smell or whatever but to me it's just pee but a lor stronger and it's really embarrassing for me.

BUT my blood sugars in the past have been extremely bad.

I think it's because of unregulated blood sugar.

But like if I do better with my blood sugars and go keto and take my insulin blah blah, how long do you think it'll take for my **** to smell normal?

Hmm, forum rules don't allow us to diagnose, but there is an interesting selection of possible medical causes below

https://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/urine-odor/basics/causes/sym-20050704

Have you checked for ketones and have you spoken to your GP about the issue? In my personal experience, when my bgs were poor I was very prone to urine infections, though these should (hopefully) be picked up when you go for a diabetic check up.

Honestly, I'd go and have a chat with your doctor and at least get your urine tested, just to rule out any medical causes.

I’d maybe also think about what I’m drinking and what I might be drinking too much of or not enough of.
