Hiya again i am on this constant at the moment but i am new and i am paranoid!!!! Do i have a snack, before i have my insulin at night or dnt i need to sounds stupid and i am sure my dn has told me already but you jo what its like when ya new and u think u have asked but cant remember!!!!

Hi. Normally there shouldn't be any reason to have snack unless you haven't had your normal evening meal and hence risk having a hypo due to that. You insulin should be and may be adjusted so that you don't normally need a snack to avoid a hypo.

I was always advised to snack before bed time dose. Not always easy for me to eat then. After following a similar discussion on this form I now take less Lantus and don't snack

My DSN recommend levels of 8 to go to bed if lower then snack.
