Dear Sir
We had an email offering the above free keto app, my wife spent about f1/2 hour completing a form and at the end
You asked for Money!

This is not the way to to encourage people to use the Type 1 Forum.

Graham, I have hot the report button on your post - not because you have done anything wrong, but to bring it to the attention of the Mods.
In the meantime, please do drop and email to the main site. Those in the correct places will see your note:

There is a telephone number on the contact page, but it is only manned/monitored dueing office hours.

Hi @grahamrb
Just confirming that the mod team have seen your thread and are escalating the issue. (We don't have anything to do with such emails but we can and are alerting those that do.)

@Carson_dcuk is this something you can comment on?

I've received (and ignored!) a similar email regarding a Keto Boot Camp offer, and I've seen another recent thread about this or very similar (apparent) spam.

Having just checked my email, the free trial button in it links to a non diabetes.co.uk site but which appears to own our diabetes.co.uk site and low carb program system - according to what Google says.... I think it's an unfortunately rather badly worded/thought out marketing mail shot.

Thank you I have now completed the form.

Hi All,

You will need to sign up for a new quarterly or annual subscription to receive the free 7 day trial, you will not be charged until after the 7 day trail, and you can cancel it at anytime. I hope this clears things up, sorry for any confusion this has caused.

Carson

thats sneaky. So it legit? Still smells like spam from here.

I don’t like the tactic but it’s pretty standard with free trials, in the hope you’ll forget to cancel.
Yes I got sucked into Amazon Prime like that. Cost me quite a bit. No renewal reminder, no welcome email, just took the money. My pharmacist tried the same tactic when they started charging for delivery. I now go in person, pay cash, and get a recipt for <n> months, so I can put a reminder in my diary.

On a similar pathway, adult entertainment sites use credit cards as proof of age. Thats why I don't go on any of them.

Hi @grahamrb - there's no fee to join the forum (as you can see, as you're posting here!)

The free trial that is being offered on the Gro app is a 7 day free trial. For that, you are required to put payment details in. This is not connected to your Diabetes.co.uk forum account.

Hope that helps!
