I drink regularly through the day and night , it's down to mouth been so dry I can't hardly talk , j waken up every hour or so due to real bad Thurst , stopped all fizzy drinks .was adviced thirst would ease within days after starting metformin.I also meant to ask why you are drinking most of your water so late at night rather than spaced throughout the day? Doesn't it make it more difficult to sleep, having to get up to use the loo?
HiWhat are you eating?
Hi
I'm taking whole grain bread , eggs ,skinless chicken boiled potatoes, steak , fresh fruit and veg , complete change as before I was diagnosed I ate burgers ,fries, kebab etc
Thanks for your reply
Sounds like you are making some good changes already. It takes a little while to get your blood sugar numbers down even with the best diet. Again, DO NOT PANIC just keep making the good changes you have already started.
I weigh 100 lb and i was very active before diagnosed , into motocross football etc . I know next to nothing about this but will spend next few days reading through forums , thanks for your time and adviceWhat are you eating?
How much do you weigh? I've been on both 500mg 2x daily and 1000mg 2x daily of metformin. They start you out at a lower dose and bring you up if needed to reduce your blood sugar levels. I was able to reduce mine down again by eating more non-starchy vegetables and lean meats, whole grains rather than white bread and sugary treats. What are you drinking? Water is good but what else are you drinking? and also DO NOT PANIC-it raises your blood sugar. Many people go through a panic stage when they are first diagnosed-this is somewhat normal. You can do this-it just takes a little time and knowledge.
