So frustrated

I only eat 4-5 ounces of protein a day divided into 3 meals. 1/2 oz BF and 1.5 lunch and 2 dinner. All weighed. This is in animal/ fish, then I get some in vegetable proteins. So .5 per kg is 28 and 1 g per kg is 55. I. Probably right in the middle. Not a lot of room to lower it and still get enough. Maybe I will try a vegetarian dinner and see how the next day goes. I KNOW I convert protein into glucose and pretty quickly. I eat less than 20 carbs per day.

I'm type one and I need to take insulin fir protein. I can on,y eat a certain amount at one time or I have to take insulin again after about an hour.

I am also not eating enough food to be overeating protein.
Yesterday I ate:

100 grm sugar free yogurt 5gm carb
2 cheese strings
2 sausage @ 2gm carb small serving steamed green beans 3 gram?
salad with homemade chicken salad on top 5 gram?

That is aprox 15 gram carb for the day, less than 1000 cal I am sure, and certainly not over eating protein. If anything it is probably too low in fat.

why dont you eat more fat then ? macadamia nuts are almost pure fat... and almonds that are so healthy with lots of calcium and alike ?

maybe better to eat a little more and excercise more instead of just starving yourself..

I do eat nuts but macadamias are over 15$ for 250 grams here. I have severe arthritis and I am having ongoing issues with one of my feet so exercise is difficult and with severe psoriasis a swimming pool is out but I do try to exercise when I can. I am not starving myself, I am just not very hungry most of the time and IBS comes into play as well. That food was just yesterday, I do not eat the same thing every day.

A lot of forum members have more going on than just diabetes, especially autoimmune conditions which actually increase your likelihood of getting diabetes a lot. These are things which tend to cluster.

Diabetes, psoriasis, arthritis, MS, lupus, hashimotos, graves disease, addisons disease, cohns, coeliac, and others like to party together.

do you know the use of apple vinegar cider ( the mother type , and organic) ? where it is used before a meal 2 teaspoons(no more) in a cup of Water, seems to lower blood sugar spikes a bit...

I´m sorry for your artritis i have myself a lot in my feet , but it doesn´t hurt so much after my weightloss, my fingers are also quite deformed but they do not hurt much if I do not carry to heavy bags.also have psoriasis in my sccalp.... it is an anoying kind of illness as it hinders so much..
psoriasis doen´t make it any better....

Woke up this morning at 5.9 and did the happy dance as I have not seen a fasting under about 7 for a while. Ate a hard boiled egg and now at 1 hour later I am at 7. It does not make any sense.

no you are right about that, and you do not need insuline ?

did you read the link I put to you in the above comment ?

I have read the info about the blood sugar diet and it is not for me. My insulin level just over 2 months ago was more than twice the normal level. I have hyperinsulinemia. The last thing I need is more insulin. I will have it checked again when I do my 3 month bloods in a few weeks. My psoriasis is not annoying it is crippling. My last flare left me looking and feeling like I had second degree burns over about 80% of my body, including my face, hands, and feet and my joints split open. Chlorine is a very bad trigger for me but fortunately I live in a place where the water is not chlorinated, which is rare. I have to take immune suppressant drugs to function.

oh I´m sad for you that you have to suffer so much, chlorine is poison...
if skin can´t heal in the old days people used their own"fresh morning urine" sounds terrible, but sometimes it works, keep it in the fridge in a wellcapsueled container put it on at night , maybe with cotton gloves...

dont know if it can help psoriasis... helps some kinds of excema , in very old days nurses knew this last way.. if all other didn´t help at all...

Gluten and dairy are known to cause psoriasis but doesn't sound d like you're eating them. Nightshades cause arthritis but doesn't sound like you're eating them. It DOES sound like a food intolerance.

I hate ACV but I love mustard and it does help a BIT. Or pickled foods before the meal. Pickled Brussels sprouts, mushrooms or asparagus.

Hope you feel better

Sitting down for dinner now. 6.0 to start. A bit of bacon and egg, very small portion green beans steamed, and 2 very small low carb almond muffins. Perhaps 8 grams carb total and first carbs of the day, we will see what happens.

6.2 at 1 hour, finally a number that makes sense.

From everything I've read/heard about autoimmune diseases, it's very difficult to get remission unless you heal/restore your gut barrier. If you feel fasting isn't an option for you, then the next best thing may be a meat/fat only diet for a period to try and restore gut barrier function. Have you ever looked into the Specific Carbohydrate Diet or the GAPS diet?

If you haven't seen @Winnie53's post about the free video series for autoimmune disease that is starting soon, it might be worthwhile signing up for it: https://betrayalseries.com/watch
