After 8 days of strict low carb, I have lost 8 lbs!!!
My BG is around 5 -5.4 most of the time though I did have one blip of 11.2 I later realised it was snacking on strawberries ( had a bowl on my desk )
See the Diabetic Nurse for the 1st time Wednesday morning.

The thing about a bowl of anything on your desk is that the consumption of it's contents are more likely to be linked with habit, or boredom than hunger or nutrition. Could you try having a glass or bottle of water in place of the bowl? That could kill several birds with one stone:

- Keep your fluids up
- Ensure any almost reflex consumption is not even potentially harmful
- There is a potential your numbers would improve overall without grazing.

I have never been one to snack, so I don't have enormous experience in this area, but the foregoing just seems to add up, perhaps?
 
Congratulations. I have been eating strawberries with cottage cheese as a snack every night. So glad I found this forum.

I took chromium for decades to stop sugar cravings after being diagnosed with hypoglycemia. Stopped taking it about a year ago. Was diagnosed with prediabetes about 8 months later. So, chromium may have helped. Can't hurt. I am back on it.
