Hello, everyone!
I apologize for my English. For several years I have been suffering from an incomprehensible disease that no one can diagnose. I am writing here because the symptoms of the symptoms overlap with diabetes. I will say right away that my last fasting blood test showed 5.21 mmol / l, but reading the Internet, I saw that there are different variations and hidden forms, so I ask for help from you people who have encountered this. Maybe someone has experienced similar symptoms and someone will advise some additional tests to establish a diagnosis. I will be grateful for any recommendations.
If I eat food with a high glycemic index, I immediately feel foggy in my head, irritability, weakness, fatigue, and also, which is very strange, my neck muscles, which are connected to my shoulders, begin to spasm. And the worst part is, I can't sleep. And when I fall asleep by the middle of the night, then at 4-5 o’clock I start to wake up and I can’t sleep normally either. And so day after day. This mainly applies to very sweet fruits (bananas, cherries, melons), as well as potatoes (but if I soak these potatoes for a day in water, then there is no very bad effect), honey and dried fruits. The same effect is observed after coffee, green tea and dark chokolate. What is even more surprising is that if I eat milk chocolate, muffins or other refined sugars, there is no such bad effect.
I wanted to completely give up sugary foods, because I know about the dangers of sugar, but to my surprise, on the 2-3rd day, I start having problems similar to hypoglycemia. I'm running out of strength, my blood pressure is dropping, my head is getting cloudy and getting worse every day. In the morning I wake up completely exhausted, food makes me feel a little better, but not in such a way that I can live normally. I wake up several times during the night and can't fall asleep right away. At the same time, I tried to eat apples, avocados and other not very sweet fruits. But as soon as I eat chocolate or something sweet, it slowly gets better. So, in a couple of days I can even do strength exercises.
I visited different doctors and took many tests, but no one found any violations. I tried to drink different dietary supplements, such as vitamin D, vitamins B, magnesium, iron, fish oil. For sleep, I tried melatonin, and I was also prescribed prescription sleeping pills, which did not give a stable effect.
So all I can do now is avoid high GI foods, but eat sugar every day to keep me going.
I am 35 years old, at the moment there are no bad habits for several years. No excess weight. I exercise 3-4 times a week besides walking the dog and working. Before this problem, I mostly ran and did exercises with my own weight, now, due to the fact that it is difficult to withstand a long intense load, I do strength exercises with weights, but with extended rest.
Maybe someone will point me in the direction in which to look for a solution to this problem, I am ready to do anything to solve this situation. I will be very grateful for any hints, as well as happy to answer any additional questions. Thank you all very much.
