After around two years of good glycemic control, today my father's insulin resistance seems to have improved to a new level. He is 82 this year. Today for the first time his two hours post meal reading (after eating 30g of carb) showed 5.8. I immediately took another reading and it showed 6.1. Then I immediately took a reading that is 90 mins after I ate roughly 100g of carb on myself, it showed 7.4. From there I decided, all the readings can be taken seriously.

My conclusion is proper carb control is very beneficial.
