Can anybody give me some clues as to why the joints in my hands are sore, really sore.

Is it too much water, not enough water, too much protein, old age or something else.

I take one Metformin 500mg daily, eat LCHF, have lost around 14 pounds this year.

No idea what's going on, any suggestions?

It could be anything, I would go see your doctor to get a definitive explanation. It might not be anything to do with your diabetes. Take care.

It's best to see your doctor about that as @Ann1982 mentioned it could be anything. For me my finger joints can ache when I have fluid retention which is caused by one of my medications. My fingers are always swollen now in fact and I can't wear my rings anymore. Hopefully you find out what is causing yours. I wish you the best. :)

As others have said, you need to get your dr to look at your hands.

well now for the past few days my left pointer finger has been killing me with pain i have done nothing to it that I know of but it is deff in the joint so might have to ask the Nurse tomorrow what she thinks it is not that she will treat but maybe she will know what i can do to get rid of the pain grrrrr

I have very sore (& occasionally itchy) finger joints. But they are also swollen due to known Osteo Arthritis. I don't know if this is similar to anything any of you have. But when I first had this and went to my doctor's surgery, a nurse, not having any idea of what it could be, said "Well it could be a witches curse"! Honestly? Anyway, I have tried Naproxen, (like a stronger version of Ibuprofen, prescription only), which did nothing and I asked about steroid injections, but these have been refused time and time again, although I have friends who have had it done, so I don't know why I'm not allowed them, as apparently, that's one of the few things that DO work.
