does anyone know if spelt bread is low carb? I don't really miss bread but a good alternative would be good for the odd occasion.

I believe it may be slightly lower-carb on average. The last loaf I looked at listed a slightly lower carb %.

I bought a spelt loaf today for the first time as morrisons didn't have any Bergen bread I thought the rye in it might make it more diabetic friendly

the ONLY way to find out how bad it is for you is to use a meter to measure your blood sugar levels before eating it and then again 2 hours after eating it... from personal experience, I can't even have one slice and keep my sugars below 6 2 hours later.

It depends if the spelt bread is white or wholemeal a wholemeal would be lower. Rye bread is low in carbs but is a bit heavy
