I can have a packet of porridge (27g) made with milk and added a few almonds a few berries and a spoon of creme freche and my bs is fine, one morning I had no berries so added a quarter of chopped apple - BIG mistake!
You may need to drop the apple and reduce your portion size as
@Bluetit1802 says the only way you will know is test different scenarios until you get the level you want to be.
For me a starting bs of 8.4 I would have avoided carbs all together maybe had scrambled eggs or bacon, but that's my choice
