Always had a beer belly, since i cut refined sugar its has shrunk ALOT like 20%-30% even friends and family noticed a lost alot of belly fat. Seems more i lose belly fat more i become sensitive to insulin.
That is consistent with the insulin resistance associated with T2 diabetes. Can I ask where you are located (country)? T2 diabetes isn't unknown for young (almost always obese) people (particularly in the US) , but T1 is far more common. (DKA is far more common for T1s than T2s also) And I agree with @Goma5 that T1s can have a honeymoon period where their insulin production recovers. So I can understand why your doctor assumes T1 and does not consider T2. On the other hand, if you continue on a low carb diet and your insulin needs drop to zero, then I guess you'll know to go back to the doctor and ask for the T1/T2 tests.
But please don't mess about with your insulin doses without discussing with a medical professional. You don't want to have another DKA, because that could kill you.
