I started using the Omnipod pump today.
I had some training and it was alot to take in. My basal rates, bolus calculators etc were all worked out. I filled the pod and applied it to my body. Pressed the button and felt a really quick prick when the canula went in. Was pretty much like a finger prick.

I left the hospital feeling really strange and nervous and then my mind starting thinking all these strange things like has a pod malfunctioned and delivered all its contents or could some frequency elsewhere cause insulin to be pumped into me without me knowing?
What if i went hypo in my sleep and then the pod continued infusing insulin into me? Questions I never asked my Diabetes Specialist.
I then came home and have googled as much as I can but dont see any topics answering my questions above.

Are there any Omnipod users who have asked these questions?

How long does it take to learn and remember all the settings and features?
How often to you fine tune your settings?

Also, what is the best way to fine tune your basal rate?

I think I will set my alarm every 2 hours tonight and test untill I am more comfortable with the pump.

Any tips would be appreciated.
