Thank you so much. My surgery keeps changing Nurses, getting temps in, etc. My last feet check was “are your feet okay?” I said yes & that was it. The temp Nurse doubled my Metformin which I agreed to for 6 months as she wanted to see me in 6 months but she’s gone so with all of this I told them I’m putting myself back on 1 tablet & I’ll do this my way. I had a telephone appointment for this morning but cancelled as it’s pointless. What are they going to achieve because they haven’t seen my BP or mmol records for the last 6 months & I know it will just be to tell me to stay on 2 Metformin which I won’t do. I’ve been a month back on 1 tablet, BP is great, mmol is great 5.6 again this morning & my weight is coming off nicely. I bought a fantastic book about diabetes and it really has changed my whole mindset & life. We no longer have a National Health Services, we have an Illness Management Service. Not well, here’s a pill. They are treating symptoms not the cause. Sorry to go on but I’m not a happy bunny with them but very happy with my progress & supportSuch admirable progress, and all credit to you for getting on with it and succeeding!
Just adding my own congratulations on your excellent outcome, well done. Are you considering coming off the metformin entirely? Also, can you tell us what your thoughts are on the role of carbs intake for your future maintenance?Since January I’ve lost 4 stones, 2 of that recently. I fast intermittently, I eat around 12.00hrs - 13.00hrs and then again around 17.00hrs - 18.00hrs and then I don’t eat until the next day again. I drink plenty of water & about 4 black coffees. I spend 30 minutes a day on a rebounder. My high BP now sits around 118/74 and my fasting mmol/L is 4.5 - 5.5 and my test after a meal (2-hrs) is 5 - 5.5. I take 1 Metformin a day. I’m thrilled of course & wanted to share this. Type 2 is reversible & I aim to be another bit of proof to substantiate this
Thank you so much. Inspiration comes from support. Oh & a mirrorWell done. The big step, as you know, is realising you can control it. The rest follows with a bit of willpower.
Keep it up!

Wow, thank you so much for those lovely words. If it’s okay in the future I’d like to put on here my journey & how I’m tackling this. I have gained so much & from so many people I believe the respectful thing to do is to put my journey down and if it helps just 1 more person I will be so happy. I will never be disrespectful & suggest anyone should do this or that, this is my journey & there might be something for someone. Thank you again to you & everyone else who has given advice, kind words of encouragement, and supportWell done @Spirit01 what a
fantastic result! How lovely to read about your success.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I certainly will get my journey down. Do I start a new thread or continue on here? Please do put your journey down - it is such a helpful thing to do, and even if some of us have collared our BG issues, we all have moments when we need a boost and encouragement to keep going. It can be a lonely ailment, but no need ever to feel lonely here.
