100% agree with you on that,
No one forces any of us to take drugs, or not.
It's completely our choice.
And history will show who's right, and who's wrong, that's why it's vital we tell others what we do.
No filling prescriptions, then flushing, no agreeing diets them ignoring, but instead having the courage to stand up and saying, "this made me better", or " oh s**t", but either way, recording our choice for history.

Out of all tablets I been given in last 15 years 90% had oh s**t levels with them. Now I am back to my insulin and one other tablet I am the best I have been in all those years.

If something doesnt agree with me, then I report the side effects on line (gps should yellow or red card it, but they don't bother).......

Glad to hear that others feel or do the same, as I know that people lime my parents dont ( 80izh). They take all meds cos GP's n consultants are to be worhsipped!! Not debated!!! Takenur drugs so to speak, no matter what, tbe medics know best....

Its good to know through internet that you're not the only one that can get side effects though... That wasnt available in my parents active lives.. So no wonder they just take wverything they are given...

It's quite a common problem where by long term users find it difficult to come off omaprazole...I've come across many articles about this. In my case, prior to type 2 diagnosis, by the third day off the drug, I'd have pains all around my chest and back...then the wild heartburn that would be worse than before I went on the drug. Apparently , the heartburn comes back very much stronger and It certainly does in my case. Since going on HFLC diet, I don't get the pains, and I've not tried to see how long I can endure the heart burn. I have reduced my dosage to one 20mg pill every 3 days. That's as far as I can go without it. . Long term side effect is osteoporosis due to it blocking calcium absorption and most recently , there's a belief it can increase chances of dementia due to it blocking vitamin b12 production . It's a damned if you do damned if you don't drug.

Hi - re omep - not overwt , no drink, but gastritis - used yrs, side effects but cld not stop, if did - rebound, within hours not days! - worse pains all over back etc, could not lie down, chest pain, up to neck, severe, lot of this is referred pain from the acid reflux, .......broke hip, got ostep, may not be related as Type 1 link also, but stopt all reg meds, just occas now, v.strict .low inflammatory diet - low cho, olive oil, g/free,etc . Agree that experience warned me off drugs, resisting statins, working on high LDL with other diet change.
