Statins Not working? BBC article about heart disease

it may be me, but there is no mention in this article about proportion of population rise, number of people who stopped smoking, or anything else useful.

just the usual blame of diabetes and obesity with nothing to back it up.

It does explain it here. Less dramatic numbers quitting etc and even more people equals a rise.

It lists high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, smoking and family history as risk factors. On the face of it that’s all true (well maybe not the cholesterol). It doesn’t even mention statins

But overall a fairly banal piece no doubt designed to stir up readers/viewers
