Statins Not working? BBC article about heart disease

It does explain it here. Less dramatic numbers quitting etc and even more people equals a rise.

“Historically, the UK has made great strides at treating and preventing heart disease, thanks to better prevention - getting more people to stop smoking, for example - and new treatments.

The BHF says a slowdown in the rate of improvement in death rates combined with a growing population is partly to blame for the reversal it is now seeing.”
It lists high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, smoking and family history as risk factors. On the face of it that’s all true (well maybe not the cholesterol). It doesn’t even mention statins

But overall a fairly banal piece no doubt designed to stir up readers/viewers

I'm just waiting for Rory Collins to pop up saying its because we haven't been taking our statins like good children... 3..2...1..
