Sore/weak legs is one of the possible side effects. I would go back to your doc and let him/her know. There are other statins available or it may be they just don't suit you. I had to come off Atorvastatin recently for the exact same reasons, weak legs. I was only prescribed them as a precautionary measure though as my cholesterol wasn't too bad. Your situation may be different.

When I started on Simvastatin my doctor said if I had any muscle pain anywhere I should go and see her. Touch wood have been taking them for 4 years have never had any side effects If you feel the pains are muscular then you should see your GP

Only reason I went on them when I did the DAFNE course the day the doctor came in it was put in a way that is was better to be on it than not on it she said all diabetics over 40 should be on them

Well, I would still speak to your doc regarding your leg trouble. Also, read up on the net the pro's and con's of statins, may help you decide.

I have done and for a year told the doctor no way I was going on them then the consultant put it another way and we'll I ended up getting them. If this keeps up I will just stop taking g them or get them changed to other ones

Have you read the information that comes with your meds? I always do.
My Doc prescribed Fluvestatin while I was having painful muscle problems.
I read the info and it could have made the problem worse with irreparable damage. They went in the bin.
As did the Metformin.
I know I am a Doctors nightmare but is my body and my choice.
Gone back to my diet and Vitamins. And Quigong.

Not that I advocate everyone ditching their Meds.:( It is my personal choice and belief.
